According to the Met Office this was the sunniest April on record. It was also probably one of the coldest with night frosts recorded nearly every day. We had snow on the 5th and 6th and then again on the 12th.

The maximum recorded temp was 19.6 degrees at 4:20pm on the 23rd. The minimum was -1.9 degrees at 6:00am on the 11th. Portmadoc recorded 20.8 degrees on the 23rd and was the warmest place in the country.

The maximum recorded sustained wind speed was 25.9mph.There was a gust of 30.4mph on the 5th.

Total rainfall of 0.85". The dryest April we've had since I began recording data. Beating my previous record of 1.04" in 2015. There were 19 dry days this month, but in 2015 we had 21 dry days.

An unusually large number of Northerly readings this month. Kept the weather cold but very dry.
