We only had 1 named storm this month. Storm Bram came through on the 9th.This affected South Wales more than us. The M4 and the A470 were closed for a time due to flooding and several Valleys train services were suspended. More rain on the 14th and 15th flooded properties in Briton Ferry and Neath Port Talbot. The beginning of the month was wet and windy. By the 16th West Glamorgan had recorded 100% of the usual December rain. The first 3 weeks were warmer than average before turning colder over Christmas. Wales recorded 126% of average sunshine hours. There was no snow so it was another year without a white Christmas. However, on New Years Eve a significant cold spell was predicted with Arctic air forcast to bring snow in January.
