Having monitored the windvane for a while I decided to take it down and double check it was working properly. Once off the mast and indoors I set it manually to each direction in turn and found that some directions were not recording correctly. I took it apart and checked that the infra-red led's were all working OK. Which they were. I re-assembled the unit carefully and checked that it was recording all directions correctly and put it back up on the pole.
