We had no named storms this month. It was another month of two halves. After a small amount of rain in the first couple of days the temperature steadily built up. However, unlike most of the country the North West had a mixture of low cloud, mist and very light drizzle for most of the second half of the month. The Met Office said it was the hottest and sunniest July on record for wales as a whole but probably not for us. The hot weather caused rail disruption with TfW cancelling some trains. The continuing hot weather caused several wild fires across wales. A fire on Conwy mountain was declared a major incident and homes were evacuatted. There were also fires on the Rynogydd mountains near Llanbedr and near Blaenavon. Nearer to home we had a grass fire in the forestry near Braichmelyn on the 12th which burned for 3 days. Fortunately it didn't seem to spread very far from what we could see from Mynydd.
